Telecommunication The global information technology market is on a growth path as the companies rearranging their operations and recovering from the COVID-19 impact, which had earlier led to restrictive containment measures. Over the past decade, India’s information and communication technology industry (ICT) has been among the fastest growing in the world. A pioneer in software development and a favourite destination for IT-enabled services, the industry employs workforce of about 10 million. India is currently the world’s second-largest telecommunications market with telephone subscriber base of more than 1 billion. With the forward looking policies of the Government of India and deregulation of foreign direct investment (FDI) norms, the sector has become one of the fastest growing and a top five employment opportunity generator in the country.

The global medical tourism market size is projected to reach USD 47.72 billion by 2030. The Asia-Pacific region dominates the market for medical tourism. The medical tourism market’s most prominent driver is the emergence of affordable healthcare choices, with increased quality services. Approximately 2 million patients visit India each year from 78 countries for medical, wellness and IVF treatments, generating $6 billion for the industry which is expected to reach $13 billion by 2026.

The Indian handloom sector has evolved and grown and holds a unique position in the export market, where the share of Indian handloom fabric in the world is 95% being exported to over 125 countries. India is the second largest exporter of handloom products in the world.

Conference would focus on “Opportunities for multilateral business partnerships in ICT, Medical Tourism, Healthcare & Handlooms sectors. Conference would also highlight opportunities for collaboration and Investments in the Tourism and Hospitality sector. With inherent Tourism potential, rich cultural heritage, and deep pool of youth having excellent language skill and enabling Tourism policy, Manipur provides immense opportunities for global collaborations and partnerships.

Charter flight is being arranged from Delhi to Imphal and vice versa for onward (17 February 2023) and return journey (19 February 2023) of delegates. Delegates who would like to avail charter flight are requested to arrive in Delhi on 16 February 2023.

Delegates who would not require charter flight may kindly plan to reach directly to Imphal on 17 February 2023.

The immigration process will be completed at the first port of entry (International Airport) in India for all delegates. A dedicated lane for immigration is available for all delegates with Diplomatic/official passports.

The G20 Secretariat will provide local transportation service to and from the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport at Imphal for delegates attending the Business- 20 Meeting. Upon arrival at Imphal airport, delegates will be received by the welcome team of the G20 Secretariat who will usher them to the Lounge and extend necessary assistance to reach their respective hotels. Delegates attending the Business-20 Meeting are requested to provide their flight information through the online registration form to ensure adequate assistance.

Delegates will be provided accommodation at Hotel Imphal or at Hotel Classic Grande at Imphal.

Manipuri Polo Statue (Marjing Hill): Manipur is the birthplace of modern polo. Polo, also known as Sagol Kangjei in the state of Manipur, has great religious and mythological significance. To commemorate the game of Polo, a gigantic Polo statue of 120 ft height above a pedestal of a three-storey building with recreational facilities is located at Marjing Hill.

Loktak Lake: The principal attraction of the state is the Loktak Lake in Bishnupur District which is 48kms from Imphal City. It is a beautiful stretch of water resembling a miniature inland sea. Loktak Lake is a freshwater lake and one amongst the largest freshwater lake in North- East India. It is famous for the phumdis (heterogeneous mass of vegetation, soil and organic matter) floating over it. Located on this phumdi, Keibul Lamjao National Park is the only floating national park in the world. The park is the last natural refuge of the endangered Sangai (brow-antlered deer).
